It was not until after 1868 that the former island of Ainu was officially made part of Japan. Our rental car plan – the perfect choice for an independent traveler who wants to experience the real Hokkaido on a deeper level – includes personal and professional travel service, GPS and ETC cards, local maps and pamphlets, including our carefully selected and easy to understand English instructions and map codes and more!
