Relax in Hokkaido’s famous hot springs while snow falls all around you and experience the famous powder snow surrounded by the beautiful Japanese nature!

ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

  1. DAY

    Tokyo - Tokyo

Upon your arrival at springtime Tokyo, one of our representatives will be waiting at the airport to assist you with transport into the city. The rest of the day is dedicated for getting over your jet lag and perhaps enjoying Tokyo’s nightlife at your own pace. Staring from tomorrow there will be plenty of time to take in Japan’s capital city blooming with pink cherry blossom flowers!

  2. DAY

    Tokyo - Tokyo

Good morning! Today you will enjoy a guided tour at cherry blossom locations and get your share of inspiring traditional Japanese culture and architecture on the way. The tour will take you to places like Shinjuku Gyo-en that was a former garden of the Imperial Family until 1903, and Meiji Jingu, Tokyo’s most famous shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji. Meiji Jingu is also home to around 120,000 trees, which can make you forget that just outside its grounds are two of the city’s popular shopping districts, Harajuku and Omotesando!

  3. DAY

    Tokyo - Tokyo

Your third day in the land of rising sun will be full of not only cherry blossoms, but also delicious Japanese cuisine. Stroll through the cherry trees and head to Ameyoko market underneath the train lines. A place where sweets were traditionally sold, the market was called “ame yokocho,” which literally translates to “candy alley.” After World War II, it served as the famous place for black market. Now, this bustling place is filled with various shops and stalls that sell fresh fish, dried food, and spices. While dining, learn more about Japan’s culinary culture by observing the lively surroundings and hearing the guide’s personal stories.

  4. DAY

    Tokyo - Lake Toya(Hokkaido)

Now is time to leave Japan’s blooming capital city Tokyo behind and head towards adventures of a different kind: Welcome to Hokkaido, North Japan! After spring Tokyo, it is time for snow covered Hokkaido where it is still middle of winter. After domestic flight collect your luggage at New Chitose Airport and meet your personal driver. You will start your private tour in the Winter Wonderland by heading to the famous “Hell Valley” at the volcanic area of Noboribetsu.

We know you are itching to stretch your feet at this point. After a nice warm lunch, a local guide will take you out to the nature for a nice snowshoe adventure to experience wonderful Hokkaido snow firsthand! After taking in the sparkling winter scenery around the steaming crater area, it is time to head towards Lake Toya, another must see of Japan’s northernmost island Hokkaido.

  5. DAY

    Lake Toya - Iwanai

Good morning Hokkaido! In the morning it will be nice to enjoy the crisp winter air and take Mount Usu Ropeway for a full view of Lake Toya and its surroundings. Now that you have seen some of the famous sightseeing locations of Hokkaido, it will be refreshing to stray off the beaten path for something unique in a small village called Kuromatsunai.

Did you know that there are winter vegetables, that survive under the protecting layer of snow? This harsh environment makes the vegetables build up lots of sugars, which means they are super sweet and delicious! Today you will get to enjoy fresh and local Hokkaido food and spend some quality time with the charming locals of Kuromatsunai.

  6. DAY

    Iwanai - Iwanai

This day is dedicated for exclusive winter activities! Hokkaido powder snow is known for its extremely high quality and the fact that the snow falls for sure year after year. At Iwanai Ski Resort, you can even take a helicopter or a snow cat up to the mountains and then ski down the wonderful powder snow scenery. From the top of the mountain you can see an impressive scenery: the Sea of Japan on one side and mountains like "Hokkaido's Mount Fuji" Mount Yotei on the other. The view is something that is going to stay with you for the rest of your life.

  7. DAY

    Iwanai - Sapporo

The charming city of Otaru located by the sea, is known for craftmanship such as glass arts and music boxes. After spending a few days surrounded by the nature, it will be nice to take a relaxing stroll at Otaru’s buzzing, historical Sakaimachi Street for some shopping and sightseeing. Then, before setting you free to the nightlife of Hokkaido’s capital city Sapporo, we would like to take you to a premium private tour at a local sake brewery. Unlike many other sake breweries, Tanaka Sake cellar can produce Sake one-year-round. If you are lucky you might get to drink fresh sake which has just been squeezed out, direct from the tank!

  8. DAY

    Sapporo - New Chitose Airport

Before returning back home there is still time to enjoy some Hokkaido specialties. Sapporo Beer and famous Hokkaido grilled lamb “Jingisukan” (as in Genghis Khan) are a wonderful combination. Some Sapporo Beer is sold only in Hokkaido, so this is really your last chance! Or how about going for a walk at Sapporo’s Central Market Place for a nice lunch and some super fresh Hokkaido seafood.
