ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

  1. DAY

    Chitose Airport - Asahikawa

Have a relaxing day after traveling from overseas, to just enjoy the nature on route to your hotel. Try to make your own Udon rice noodles for lunch in Bibai! Stop by Sunagawa Highway Oasis for some of Hokkaido’s local sweets and delicacies. Check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner in Asahikawa (we recommend Genghis Khan or Sukiyaki!).

  2. DAY

    Asahikawa - Sounkyo

Asahikawa is famous nationwide and worldwide for the Asahiyama Zoo! Enjoy meeting the adorable animals in unique environments. One of the highlights there is the ‘Penguin Parade’, where these cute birds stroll through the whole park to find their way to their pool. See the animals from the cold countries of this world in the temperatures they are used to!
After lunch, we visit a famous sweet shop and factory “Kibana no Mori”, famous for their crisp cookies and delicious cakes.
Stop by the long-established Takasago Japanese Sake Brewery for some taste testing as well! The snow of the winter makes a wonderful environment to brew sake in; they are quite famous for making sake in a “kura”, snow igloo!
After a day of exploration in Asahikawa, you will be glad to arrive in the center of Hokkaido, surrounded by magnificent mountains.
After check-in and some time to relax at your hotel here in Sounkyo, enjoy the brightly colored “Hyobaku Ice Festival” at night!

  3. DAY

    Sounkyo - Lake Shikaribetsu

Sit back and relax this morning, taking in the towering winter mountains around you. Your next destination is Lake Shikaribetsu. The Kotan Ice Village is what brings thousands from around the world to visit! Drink at an ice bar, make your own glass out of ice, see the handmade ice hot spring on the frozen lake, and more! Enjoy winter… Hokkaido style.

  4. DAY

    Lake Shikaribetsu - Tomamu

Today we head for Tomamu Resort. On the way, let’s make our own lunch again, this time the famous Soba noodles of Shintoku Town! In Tomamu, be sure to arrive excited and ready for a day of fun snow activities! You will have a variety to choose from, to suit all ages. Snowmobiling, snow-shoeing, and more!
After you have played to your heart’s content in Hokkaido’s winter wonderland, you can relax indoors in the comfort of your room, with massage facilities and more. Tomamu is also famous for its ice village, with many exciting activities to enjoy available until mid-March. Have a luxury dinner at the Hoshino Resort.

  5. DAY

    Tomamu - Furano

You don’t have to check out today, as we will be driving to a nearby favorite tourist destination of the island for a day trip: Furano! A beautiful area to enjoy Hokkaido’s countryside; a large wooden homey restaurant surrounded by fields of snow is waiting for you to serve you lunch. After lunch, have a fun family adventure in the forest! Drive back to your hotel in Tomamu for dinner at the Hoshino Resort.

  6. DAY

    Furano - Sapporo

Today we head to Sapporo City. The Sapporo seafood market will satisfy all your seafood cravings. Enjoy the freshest seasonal seafood here.
Last but not least, the Sapporo Chocolate Factory. This activity can be enjoyed by all ages! If you’re keen, we can also include an optional cookie making activity for you and your group! (Include your request on the inquiry form.)
See the early sun set over the city from atop Mt. Moiwa, recently voted one of the top three nighttime views in Japan!
Check in to your hotel in downtown Sapporo, feel free to relax, or go out for some night time fun!

  7. DAY

    Sapporo

Sapporo City is Hokkaido’s largest city, full of shopping facilities and delicious restaurants, as well as beautiful nature just around the corner. This day is schedule-free for you to walk the streets of Sapporo to go shopping and see the sights. There is much to be explored! Such as the Sapporo Clock Tower, TV Tower, Sapporo Beer Breweries, a Chocolate Factory, the large Hokkaido Shrine, Tea Shops for Tea Ceremonies and more! You are even welcome to take a day trip to the port city of Otaru if you like, just about one hour away by JR train. Be sure to try the local delicacies of Sapporo Ramen, Genghis Khan, or Soup Curry, and enjoy the day freely!

  8. DAY

    Sapporo – Chitose Airport

Even the last day has a lot to offer! Enjoy some free time in the city before your departure. Do some last minute shopping downtown before heading home, or enjoy shopping on the way at one of the outlet malls near the airport. In case you didn’t have enough of Hokkaido’s delicacies, plenty of seafood and souvenirs are available for you to enjoy at the airport; there is even an Onsen! We hope you were able to discover your treasure on this island!
