DAY

Chitose Airport - Furano

Welcome to Hokkaido! After your arrival, drive to Furano and take it easy for the first night. Depending on your arrival time, there is more to see in town!
Shopping at Ningle Terrace is also very fun. It offers many handcrafted products made of wood, wax and more, great for special souvenirs.

DAY

Furano - Kushiro

Furano is a town famous for flower fields, particularly lavender. Stroll through the fields, take pictures and enjoy the great scenery.
Enjoy lunch in Obihiro City, famous for the local specialty, “Buta-Don” Pork Bowl, grilled to perfection and served on rice. After lunch, visit the bright fields of yellow rapeseed flowers, and relax with a light picnic surrounded by the vibrant beauty.
Arrive in Kushiro, check in to your hotel, and dig in to the local specialty “Robata Grill” for dinner: rich with seafood and vegetables, topped with a spectacular view of the ocean.

DAY

Kushiro - Rausu (Shiretoko)

The Kushiro Marshland is rich with wildlife and natural habitats. You might even meet the Japanese Crane there, as they are one of over 2000 plants and animals living here. Experience the lush nature up close on a canoe through flowing through the marsh’s rivers. Have lunch at a local restaurant, and visit two high viewpoints that reveal dynamic views of vast Hokkaido! Check in to your hotel in Rausu for dinner and rest for the night.

Rausu - Utoro (Shiretoko)

Today is a cruising day! Rausu is located on the northeast coast of Hokkaido. Hop on to a cruise there to see the wildlife of the sea, such as whales, killer whales, and more! For lunch, enjoy sea urchin, and even try to make your own seafood bowl! Your next stop is Shiretoko. It is one of the most beautiful places in Japan, registered as a World Nature Heritage Site, thanks to the untouched nature and the large number of animals that call Shiretoko home. Climb on to another cruise to watch the large wild Brown Bears of Hokkaido in their natural habitat! Stay in Shiretoko for tonight.

DAY

Utoro (Shiretoko) - Akan

Today is all about nature’s breathtaking sights. Before leaving Shiretoko, we invite you on a walk to see 5 beautiful lakes of the land, a location you need special permission to enter in order to protect the nature. Travel to enjoy a local lunch in Teshikaga, and visit the mysterious Lake Mashu: a beautiful still blue masterpiece surrounded by forests and mountains. See the power of the earth bursting forth from the active sulfur Mt. Iou nearby. Enjoy a buffet dinner and relaxing natural Onsen at your hotel for the night.

DAY

Akan - Abashiri

Your next stop is Lake Akan. Take a cruise to learn about unique Green Moss Balls called “Marimo” that curiously grow in the lake. Visit a farm to enjoy a local farming experience, another great way to appreciate nature’s best with Hokkaido’s kind people! After lunch, see the spectacular view of Lake Kussharo from Mt. Bihoro. Dig in to a full course Kaiseki Dinner at your hotel in Abashiri.

DAY

Abashiri - Asahikawa

Visit the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum in Abashiri, where you can experience freezing temperatures all year long, and touch real drift ice that visits northern Hokkaido in the winter. Have fun meeting adorable chipmunks as they come to greet you on your journey. Have a BBQ lunch in Kitami, famous for delicious vegetables. Visit a mountain aquarium and wood park, then drive to Asahikawa to stay for the evening.

DAY

Asahikawa - Sapporo

Asahikawa is famous nationwide and worldwide for the Asahiyama Zoo! Enjoy meeting adorable animals in unique environments. Rare Hokkaido animals are waiting to greet you there as well! Many people visit Asahikawa to eat Ramen, so you will be happy to indulge in this local delicacy at the Ramen Village for lunch.
Make your way to Sapporo City a bit early so you can enjoy some city shopping and city exploration at night. You are free to choose a restaurant of your choice for dinner; we recommend Sapporo Ramen, Genghis Khan or Soup Curry.

DAY

Sapporo - Chitose Airport

We are sad to say, this will be your last day in Hokkaido… depart for Chitose Airport but stop by Mitsui Outlet for some more souvenir and brand name shopping. Local specialty restaurants are also available for lunch in Mitsui for your last minute Hokkaido cravings. Make one last stop to shop at the Rera Chitose Outlet Mall before your flight. We hope you were able to enjoy the nature of Hokkaido and discover many treasures on the island!
