    Sharing bath with stranger?

I know it is awkward culture for you, however we love to take public Onsen very much! The meaning of public Onsen is the one which you will share huge Onsen with naked strangers! Of course, men and women are separated!!! Though some hidden Onsen has mix Onsen and sometimes we try too!

Why we are so crazy about Onsen? The top reason is for relaxing. We love to take hot Onsen (hot spring) which water temperature is over 40 degrees to relax our body. Also do you know this? Onsen makes your skin beautiful and smooth! Therefore, Japanese has beautiful skin! Even some people have own Onsen in their house for this reason!

If we say [Onsen] its mean public. Are you shy to take it with naked strangers? I will tell you the special technique today.

Most of Onsen at hotel/ ryokan open for 24 hours. The time just before dinner is the busiest hour. So, if you go there after 10 PM? You can occupy it almost only by yourself! Also, if you go there before breakfast? Same!

My favorite way to take Onsen is in the early morning. Wake up and just Soak in fresh Onsen with sunrise and put on Yukata and straight go to breakfast restaurant!

At night, before dinner, jump into Onsen and fresh yourself and straight go to dinner and drink cold beer! This is how we enjoy real Onsen!

Hokkaido is the most prefecture to have Onsen area in Japan. Why? We have 18 active volcanos in Hokkaido! So, wherever you stay in Hokkaido, you will have Onsen in your accommodation for most of the time! You cannot be away from Onsen in Hokkaido! So, please enjoy our culture! Once you try public Onsen? You cannot forget about it! And you will beg us to include Onsen area when next time you come back to Hokkaido!

    Furukawa

At last! My favorite Onsen in Hokkaido is [ Houheikyou] Where is right next to Jyouzankei where is only 1 hour away from our capital city Sapporo.

Why do I like so much? The quality of the spring water is just an amazing! The great spring water normally include lot of minerals and those minerals create Flowers of Sulphur [Yunohana] and they piled up on the floors, the bath tab and everywhere. Look at this picture! The floor of this Houheikyou public Onsen is like a limestone caves!
