Hokkaido Treasure Island Travel is proud to introduce our brand new itineraries that highlight the best sides of Hokkaido and Aomori, North Japan. These Aomori itineraries have been made in cooperation with our dear southern neighbor. Scroll down for a list of the itineraries!

Aomori Prefecture is the northernmost prefecture of Japan’s main island Honshu, south from the island of Hokkaido. Among other things this snowy prefecture is known for its local produce such as delicious apples and Japanese rice wine sake, as well as the amazing Goshogawara Tachineputa Festiva held in August.

Aomori might not be as popular a travel destination as its northern neighbor Hokkaido yet, but many travelers miss the fact that this area has actually deeper roots when it comes to Japanese culture compared to Hokkaido. When Japanese first arrived to the island nowadays known as Hokkaido, they had to proceed trough the Tohoku region where Aomori is located. This means that in Aomori you can appreciate for instance old temples and other manifestations of Japanese culture that are not so common in Hokkaido that was the home of the indigenous Ainu people long before the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants.
