Corn can be white!

Have you ever seen White Corn? You may say yes, or you may say no.

This is my first experience of corn picking which is all white. The name is “Pure White”.

You can see how white it is!

Nanporo town is located about 1hour to east from Sappro. The population is about 9,000 people.
Hokkaido has the top yield of corns.
And, Nanporo has the best harvest of this special white corn in Hokkaido.

The characteristics of Nanporo town is the strong wind.
Although it sounds not good for farm products, it is a benefit of making the white corn.
It is because the wind prevents of pollinating by yellow corn.
Corn farmers have made their effort, then the pure white became one of a big brand of Hokkaido corn.

As for an activity, all family can enjoy the corn picking.
The farmer gives you the instruction how to pick and peel the leaves.
After that, you can taste the sweet fresh corn with both raw and boiled.
The raw corn is too juicy and taste like fruits.

Summer in Hokkaido is too short.
The best season of corn has been almost ended, but we will have some corn picking programs for next  year as well.
