The cherry blossoms in Hokkaido bloom later than the rest of Japan, but that means it offers comfortable cool temperatures compared to many other parts of the world, perfect weather for traveling! We take you to four of the island’s southern cherry blossom locations, each famous for presenting these beautiful pink trees in completely different ways. Join this tour if you want to experience Hokkaido’s rich nature, vast landscapes, hot springs, and local foods, with a few days to roam in Otaru and Sapporo for some shopping and enjoyment in the city.   • DAY1

    Chitose Airport - Noboribetsu

    Hokkaido is the perfect getaway for people seeking relaxation in nature, so right after your arrival, we are happy to take you to take in the fresh air at Lake Shikotsu. Enjoy the beauty of the lake surrounded by forests and mountains.
    After lunch, we will drive you to the most famous and most popular Onsen Town of Hokkaido: Noboribetsu. “Jigokudani” or “Hell Valley” is a must see. Don’t forget to count how many hidden demon statues you find… 7 different types of Hot Springs and a full course Kaiseki dinner are waiting for you! Come and experience what true relaxation means!

  • DAY2

    Noboribetsu - Hakodate

    This second day, we will drive you south to Hakodate. On the way, stop by Cape Chikyuu; here you will feel true freedom through this spectacular view of the ocean. Enjoy cooking with mothers of local fishermen, learn from them how to prepare seafood (fresh catch!) and just have fun together! Super nice people here. Shikabe is famous for its powerful Geyser Park. Relax from the drive by dipping your feet into the hot footbath. You’re almost at Hakodate now, but one more gorgeous view is on the way! Shirotai Skyline invites visitors to their panoramic view of the vast lands in southern Hokkaido. You may even see Mt. Hakodate and the new Hokkaido Bullet Train if the skies are clear! Check in to your hotel in Hakodate near the Goryokaku Tower. Have some free time to explore the cherry blossoms surrounding the tower, and enjoy Kaiseki Dinner at your hotel.

    Hakodate

    Today we take you to the nearby city of Matsumae, famous for their historical Japanese castle surrounded by cherry blossom trees. Great photo opportunities await! Dress up to match the classical look of the town by wearing traditional Japanese armor at the Matsumae Han Yashiki!
    Visit a Shrine in Hokuto to see more cherry blossoms blooming cheerfully. End your day back in Hakodate, and enjoy dinner at your hotel.

    Hakodate - Lake Toya

    Start your day with breakfast at the Morning Fish Market of Hakodate. More spring treasures await; can you imagine driving through a tunnel of cherry blossoms? It’s a beautiful sight, another highlight of this trip!
    Your next stop is full of rich nature, Onuma. Many travel here to visit the unique landscape of the Onuma Quasi National Park. Take a cruise to enjoy the sights. Drive to Lake Toya and check in to your hotel. Relax with soothing baths and a beautiful view over the lake.

    Lake Toya - Niseko

    Today you will enjoy all that nature has to offer! Visit Lake Hill Farm to make your own gelato from fresh milk famous in the region! After a delicious Dutch Oven lunch, head to the active volcano of Mt. Usu. Take a ropeway to the top and see Hokkaido’s beauty from above.
    The towering mountain of Yotei (aka Ezo Fuji), invites you to Niseko next. On the way, try nature’s fresh drinking water flowing from the mountains. Check in to your hotel at Niseko for the night.

    Niseko - Otaru

    Enjoy the drive from Niseko to Otaru City, popular for Sushi and sightseeing! Have fun blowing glass to make a one-of-a-kind souvenir, or even try making your very own music box! Visit some of the famous sightseeing spots while you’re here, such as the romantic Otaru Canal, sweets shops with melt-in-your-mouth cheesecake, Sakai Street for souvenirs, and more! Stop by the local Japanese Sake Brewery for some taste-testing, a rich flavor made in Hokkaido! Check in to your hotel and enjoy Kaiseki Dinner.

    Otaru - Sapporo

    Today we take you to your last destination, Sapporo City. The Sapporo Chocolate Factory is fun to explore with its European atmosphere mixed with Asian culture. Here you can design your own Hokkaido cookie! Visit the Mt. Okura Ski Jump Observatory for a great view overlooking the city. Enjoy your afternoon shopping downtown in the Tanuki Koji Shopping Arcade Street and more. Check in to your hotel, and roam the city at ease, free to choose a restaurant of your choice for dinner. We recommend the local delicacies Sapporo Ramen, Genghis Khan or Soup Curry.

    Sapporo

    Have fun for a day in Sapporo at your leisure. Apart from the many shopping facilities, you can visit the TV tower, Clock Tower, Sapporo Beer Breweries, Odori Park and more; with many activities to keep you busy, one day is never enough! Take your time and enjoy this open-schedule day in Sapporo to mingle with the city people.

  • DAY9

    Sapporo - Chitose Airport

    We are sad to say, this will be your last day in Hokkaido… Depending on your departure time, you can do some last minute shopping downtown before heading home. In case you didn’t have enough of Hokkaido’s delicacies, seafood and souvenirs are available for you to enjoy at the airport; there is even a hot bath!
